Puzzle Fundraiser Update

You all are AWESOME!! Thank you to everyone who has participated in our puzzle fundraiser to help us bring Lily home. We can not say thank you enough. We are a little over half way there and hope to complete the puzzle before we travel which could be in approximately 3 weeks. We are just waiting for travel approval (TA) which we should get any day...YEAH!! We can not wait. Thank you again for your giving, your prayers, support and encouragement!

That is wonderful news! Praying for your safe travels and everything to go perfectly on the trip. The waiting is so hard but it will be so worth it when you have your sweet baby Lily in your arms! Thinking of you all and praying!! Love, Natalia

Adoption Lingo

Gotcha Day/Forever Family Day: The special day that you finally meet your new daughter or son.

CCAA: Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs. They oversee the adoption in the People's Republic of China. All adoptive parents must have their approval in order to adopt a Chinese orphan.

Dossier: This is all your paper work to adopt an orphan. It includes a letter requesting permission to adopt a Chinese orphan, home study, police reports, immigration approval, reference letters, medical reports, marriage certificate, birth certificates, letters of employment, and photos of your family and house.

LID: Log in Date. This is the date that China recognizes your dossier and logs it into their system by the CCAA.

LOI: Letter of Intent. This is a letter we write to the CCAA to ask for permission to adopt a particular child.

PA: Pre-approval- China's initial approval of your adoption.

LOA: Letter of Acceptance-This is the official approval from China to adopt your child.

I800-An application to have your child viewed as an immediate family member.

NVC: National Visa Center-Where you petition for a Visa . They work with the US Embassy in China to let them know the petition has been approved.

Article 5: this is the consulate's pre-approving your child for an immigrant visa.

TA: Travel Approval-you are approved to travel to China to get your child!

CA-Consulate Appointment-the date of your appointment at the US embassy to finalize your adoption.
